There’s a lot going on at FCCOL from now up through the New Year.  We invite you to join together with us in fellowship this holiday season at one of our worship services or special events.  All are welcome!

Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service

The annual Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service, sponsored by the churches of Lyme and Old Lyme, will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Christ the King Church in Old Lyme. Everyone is welcome to attend this ecumenical worship service of prayer and song, featuring music by the choirs of FCCOL, St. Ann’s Episcopal Parish and Christ the King Church. Clergy from various faith communities will participate, as will lay members from the churches and community leaders. The service is open to the everyone in the community, regardless of their religious affiliation. A free-will offering will be taken up during the service to benefit the New London Homeless Hospitality Center, and donations of nonperishable foods will be collected for the Shoreline Food Kitchens and Pantries to help neighbors in need. Open House for New Church Members

On Thursday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. in the Sheffield Auditorium, FCCOL will hold an Open House for residents of the community who are planning to join our congregation – or who would like to know more about joining our congregation. During this informal evening, guests can meet other potential new members, long-time congregational members as well as representatives of our clergy – and learn about upcoming worship services and community events. It’s a fun, informal way to be introduced to our community of people of faith who care about the world we live in – whether it’s right outside our door or half a world away. Our congregation welcomes the opportunity to join in fellowship with new members as together we pursue a stronger faith.

We Depend Upon One Another

We depend upon our faith to guide us. We depend upon one another as we share and deepen our own spirituality to perform our work. And we know, too, that there are people who depend upon us – even as we depend upon them - to be signs of hope in troubling times. With our annual Stewardship Campaign, we depend upon you. We rely on you to make our ministries and our outreach possible. Our annual Stewardship Campaign raises nearly 90% of the funds needed for our ministry and missions. We welcome – and are grateful for – any and all gifts.
