We were pleased to welcome Tom Piazza back to FCCOL on Sunday, November 9th. Tom has been a long time friend of our community. Most recently, he shared passages and insights from his most recent novel, The Auburn Conference, with us. Prior to that, he visited us during our Sanctuary efforts to read from his novel A Free State. In addition, Tom and his partner Mary Howell have welcomed travelers from FCCOL to New Orleans on several journeys. It is an honor to welcome Tom back, as he reads from his most recent book Living in the Present with John Prine, a book that has some surprising resonances with this form of life we call faith.
Tom joined us immediately after the worship service for an Adult Forum. We listened to a little John Prine, Tom shared a few stories about their friendship, and we’ll think about what it all has to do with the life of faith.
