We’ll have a community memorial service on Saturday, October 30th, at 2:00pm in the Meetinghouse to honor our members who have died since the start of Covid, and the nearly 700,000 US citizens who have died of Covid. After the service, we’ll screen City of a Million Dreams, a documentary film by Jason Berry, about the black funeral tradition in the city of New Orleans. We’ll have a chance to converse with Jason, as well as Dr. Michael White and another member of his traditional New Orleans Jazz Ensemble, featured in the film. On Sunday, October 31st, for our Sunday morning worship, Dr. White’s ensemble will lead us in a sacred jazz service.
